Healthcare Provider Network SQL Developer - Work from home at Cigna in Bloomfield, Connecticut

Summary:

Create data driven analytic solutions to automate and monitor the loading of provider network products. Works in collaboration with business leaders to provide strategic partnership in analytics, identify and prioritize opportunities for impact, develop analytic solutions, leverage data science and technology capabilities, embed analytics-driven processes, operationalize and measure impact, to support decision making and execution based on data, facts and analytical findings across different parts of the organization. Exercises considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment in conceiving, planning, and delivering initiatives. Uses deep professional knowledge and acumen to advise functional leaders. Focuses on providing thought leadership within Business Analytics but works on broader projects, which require understanding of wider business. Recognized internally as a subject matter expert.

The incumbent will be a member of the Network Solutions & Growth team (NS&G); responsible for leading and delivering on all aspects of network solution implementations, including implementing network configurations and managing theprovider data implementation for NS&G leveraging SQL server, Oracle, and APIs. This candidate works extensively with Market Designers, Network Managers and Network Operations to ensure networks solutions are effectively implemented and that solution designs are structured to meet or exceeding operating efficiency expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop and support SQL Server/SSIS solutions in a production environment to automate the loading of provider network products

  • Lead\Participate overall discussions around application and database designs with the matrix partners.

  • Design, create, modify and remove database objects (tables, views, indexes, keys, stored procedures, functions, DB links, etc.) to support development projects

  • Develop and implement reporting mechanisms to monitor network loads and send automation fallout to appropriate network operations departments for research

  • Load and enhance dimensional data models

  • Perform peer code reviews and QA

  • Performance review and tuning on pending, new and, production database objects

  • Maintain database objects in a software version control system

  • Troubleshoot and address issues with the data and/or the ETL processes.

  • Identifies data sources, provides data flow diagrams, and documents sources to target mapping and process.

  • Work effectively and efficiently on multiple tasks and deadlines, while producing high quality results.

  • Develop reports using various tools like Tableau, SSRS, and Cognos.

  • Establish and develop relationships with key partners

  • Influence\Mentor developers to follow the best practices while developing new ETLs.

  • Development of high quality database solutions

  • Perform adhoc data pulls

Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in developing and supporting SQL Server application solutions in a production environment

  • Expertise in T-SQL and SSIS, including writing complex stored procedures, views and triggers

  • Proficient in database concepts and technologies including MS Sql Server and Oracle

  • Knowledge and experience applying best practices and standards for TSQL and SDLC

Preferred:


  • Working knowledge of Git/GitHub Enterprise and Jira/Confluence

  • Experience in Software Development through Agile Methodology such as SCRUM.

  • Experience with Medicare provider data is highly desirable

  • Experience with HCPM structure and data models is highly desirable

  • C#, VB.net or any other programming language

  • Experience developing Tableau dashboards preferred.

  • Knowledge of Data Modeling (including dimensional modeling), Data Architecture & Data Governance concepts

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 94,300 - 157,100 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
