POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Visual Merchandiser is responsible for setting and maintaining visual merchandise presentations throughout the retail store. This role will align with Company initiatives to change displays that promote new product launches and/or reflect seasonal changes. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Maintain and implement visual merchandising in alignment with Company standards and strategies 


• Ensure timely compliance with merchandising directives with proper merchandise signage and ticketing 


• Support the Ad Coordinator in the planning and placement of advertised product, as well as, the development of sales, particularly in the Company Top 40 assortment 


• Support associate learning in merchandising by answering questions and properly demonstrating Company directives 


• Understand and execute safety and maintenance standards in alignment with Company standards


• Participate in and execute merchandising direction throughout the entire store 


• Ensure all OSJL customers receive the best possible service on the sales floor and at the point of sale 


• Operate a cash register, as needed 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

• Prior merchandise experience in other retail environments preferred 


• Basic math and reading skills, legible handwriting, and good verbal and written communication skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT: 

• Work primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. This position requires extended periods of moving, remaining stationary, ascending, descending, and/or positioning oneself to complete various tasks throughout the shift. 


• Responsible for physical activities including using hand tools, ascending or descending a ladder, moving, reaching, and lifting on a frequent basis: should be able to lift 35 lbs on a regular basis.
