The primary responsibility of the Talent Acquisition Manager (Corporate) is to recruit high quality talent. You will partner directly with the Chief Human Resources Officer and the HR Leadership Team to create and implement Berkshire’s talent acquisition strategy. You will also lead the day-to-day operations of the Company’s corporate talent acquisition function to deliver highly positive experiences for both candidates and hiring managers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (These are the main duties/tasks of the position)
The Manager of Talent Acquisition will perform all assigned functions demonstrating a high level of customer service and commitment to excellence, as a business partner. Work will be performed ensuring recruiting efforts are conducted in compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations and in alignment with the organization’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) initiatives. Ability to perform work collaboratively as part of a team is essential to success, as is the ability to take ownership of work and complete assigned tasks independently. Tasks include but are not limited to:
Develop, facilitate and implement a talent acquisition strategy and all phases of the recruitment process:
o Collaborate with department managers to identify and draft detailed and accurate job descriptions and hiring criteria; maintain the library of job descriptions
o Identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies for each open role
o Prepare job postings; ensure postings are up to date and refreshed
o Partner with hiring managers to develop understanding of positions and candidate requirements
o Train hiring managers on the hiring process, assisting as needed with interview questions and strategy
o Screen resumes and applications; select qualified candidates; present candidates to hiring managers
o Conduct screening interviews with qualified candidates
o Coordinate and schedule interviews with hiring team members
o Develop a consistent process for sharing feedback on candidates; collaborate with hiring team to evaluate feedback and select the most qualified candidate
o Execute offer process including working together with the hiring manager to determine appropriate salary, bonus and other incentives along with a start date
o Draft offer letters; secure appropriate approvals and signatures
o Manage onboarding and background check processes; review background checks; present first day orientation and complete required onboarding tasks including I9 verifications
o Ensure new hire check-in calls are scheduled with HR Generalist team
Track and report on recruiting status of open positions for monthly CEO and Leadership Team update
Create corporate recruiting metrics/KPIs and present insightful analysis to CHRO
Serve as a member of the Company’s DEIB Committee
Manage policy and process related to pay transparency laws state-to-state; ensure compliance
Partner with Property Management Talent Acquisitions Recruiters to ensure alignment of corporate and on-site recruiting strategies and to develop best practices, policies and procedures
Train and coach managers of people on effective recruiting techniques and strategies.
Build relationships with external talent agencies/recruiters; negotiate recruiting contracts
Build relationships with universities, community groups, vendors, training facilities, employee referrals and diverse organizations; attend job fairs and industry panel discussions
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement employment branding initiatives including the use of the Company’s website and social media platforms
Assist with development and administration of compensation strategy including survey participation and evaluation, market-based compensation analysis and job benchmarking
Build and maintain strong and impactful relationships with clients (team members and management), being proactive with information so challenges and needs are met; viewed as a partner
Develop understanding of company benefits and the ability to correctly respond to candidate and recruiting partner inquiries regarding benefits
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in talent acquisition and related law
Identify opportunities and propose solutions to continually improve the candidate and hiring manager experience
Develop strong external networking relationships within talent acquisition across the Real Estate Investment Management and Property Management communities to understand what peers are doing and make recommendations to the HR Leadership team
Mentor/train HR team members, as assigned
Provide backup support to HR Generalists and leadership team as needed in the areas of employee relations and talent management
Perform other duties as assigned by the CHRO & HR Leadership Team

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
At least seven (7) years of experience working as a recruiter or in a position specializing in talent acquisition strategy, preferably in the real estate investment management, investment management or finance/accounting industry
History of designing and implementing effective recruiting strategy and resources for mid-size to large organizations during growth phase
History of managing, developing and training high performing team members
Experience with behavioral assessment tools and theories
Experience with applicant tracking systems
