Territory Sales Manager

The territory manager services customers and offers consultative sales techniques by calling on dairies and calf ranches within the assigned market area to evaluate and provide nutritional and management program solutions; the position also producer meetings, and organizing effective educational meetings both for dairy managers, and calf workers. This position is responsible to sell Calva/Land O'Lakes solutions. Further responsibility includes; developing relationships and working collaboratively with, owners, key account partners.

This position is remote (virtual) and offices from home but must be located within the territory covered which is the California Central San Joaquin Valley

Position Purpose:

The territory manager services customers and offers consultative sales techniques by calling on large dairies and calf ranches within the assigned market area to evaluate and provide nutritional and management program solutions; the position also involves leading producer meetings and organizing effective educational meetings for managers, and calf workers.

This position is responsible to sell Calva/Land O'Lakes solutions. Further responsibility includes; developing relationships and working collaboratively with owners, key account partners and calf workers.

Required (Basic) Experience & Education:

• Diploma/GED or higher


• 3 or more years of related Agri technical sales experience - and/or livestock management experience


• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Required Competencies & Other Skills:

• This position requires excellent verbal and written communication, focus, along with strong organization and time management skills.


• Success in this position requires high internal drive, attention to details, an ability to develop relationships, and provide leadership in a team environment.


• Candidate has a passion for calves and helping teams and customers reach their goals.


• Basic understanding of animal nutrition is a must, along with strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office.

Preferred Experience & Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or a closely related field


• Strong dairy or animal background and previous professional experience with dairy cows and calves, sanitation, calf feeding equipment and quality assurance.

Preferred Competencies & Other Skills:

• Candidate has strong public speaking skills, is goal oriented and possesses excellent leadership and interpersonal skills


• Should possess excellent relationships in the California dairy market


• Proficiency in Spanish is preferred


• Be willing to use salesforce (customer relationship management (CRM) system) to document customer interactions.

Compensation for this role is a combination of base salary and commission. Typical base salary range is $90,000 - $115,000 DOE
