What we do here changes the world. UTHealth Houston is Texas' resource for healthcare education, innovation, scientific discovery, and excellence in patient care. That's where you come in.
UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry is hiring for a Histology Technician II to join their team of professionals. The Histology Tech will be responsible for: processing, embedding, cutting, and staining tissue slides (including special stains and direct immunofluorescence); assisting the resident/pathologist with grossing specimens; receiving calls/answering questions from contributors; and more. This is a great opportunity to also learn a bit about insurance and the documents needed for billing, codes etc. as these documents are necessary for billing and, at times, are not supplied with the biopsy submission. Immunohistorychemistry (QIHC), Digital Pathology, QLI, and/or Qualification in Laboratory Safety (QLS) are a plus. Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) certification is required.
