Job Description:

Nemours is seeking a Public Safety Shift Supervisor (Full-Time), 2nd Shift, to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Orlando, Florida.

Schedule: 2nd Shift

This position will have responsibility for the oversight of their assigned shift within the Public Safety Department at Nemours Children's Hospital - Florida (NCHFL). The Public Safety Supervisor will ensure proper security post coverage daily including special events and emergent situations and ensure all officers are on post at their assigned times and in proper uniform. This position will manage the initial on-site response to emergency incidents at NCHFL. The Public Safety Shift Supervisor will provide updates and information hand-offs at the beginning of each shift. The position will interact and assist local law enforcement as appropriate. The position will participate in Public Safety plan reviews, audits, exercises, and drills. The Public Safety Shift Supervisor will prepare and maintain records of security activities during their assigned shift. This position will create and provide appropriate training for Public Safety Officers. The Public Safety Shift Supervisor will regularly inspect and audit all security posts to ensure performance is meeting expectations. The Public Safety Shift Supervisor will maintain order and enforce NCHFL policies and procedures regarding workplace violence and zero tolerance for improper behavior. This position will lead efforts to conduct initial threat assessments and appropriate control measures.

• Maintain direct oversight of the NCHF Public Safety team on their assigned shift
• Ensure proper security post coverage and adjust to ensure priority post are covered during callouts or staff shortages
• Assist in recruitment, hiring and onboarding of new Public Safety Officers
• Provide updates and hand-offs during the start of each shift
• Provide training, coaching, mentoring and feedback to assigned Public Safety Officers to ensure proper performance is met
• Provide initial on-site response to emergency events
• Conduct daily rounds throughout facility to ensure any security related concerns are being addressed
• Read and provide necessary feedback for daily security reports submitted by assigned Public Safety Officers
• Assist in Public Safety training for staff at NCHFL
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma required. Specialized (1 year of training beyond high school required).
• Minimum of one (1) year experience required.
• Possesses and maintains Florida Class D Security license required.
• Working knowledge of security policies, procedures and practices.
