Job Description:

As the global leader in the manufacturing and marketing of decorative surfacing materials, Formica Corporation offers its customers the best performing products in the industry. We have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced professional as the Director – West Area, covering the Western half of the U.S. 

The Director will be responsible for leading a team of 6 direct reports, including 3 Regional Managers and 2 A&D Managers, as well as achieving budgeted revenue goals.  The Director will be responsible for driving sales through a variety of channels including direct accounts, distributors, retailers, architects and designers.  Reporting to the VP of Sales, NA, this position will assist in developing sales strategies leading to above market growth rates.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop sales strategies and value propositions to gain new business.

  • Direct national distribution with current, new and prospective customers.

  • Understand the essential financial considerations of the business, both strategically and tactically, ensuring profitable share gain.

  • Align pricing, initiatives, and strategies for the geographic footprint (West Area).

  • Drive market teams (RM/A&D Manager) to ensure a total team selling approach inclusive of tracking projects, opportunities and revenue goals.

  • Actively manage team performance, develop and coach individuals, and build capabilities within the team.

Preferred candidates must be able to accomplish their goals and strategies through others, which will require strong leadership, planning, organizing and communication skills.  Experience in dealing with distributor networks and direct accounts required. Must be proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint. Candidate will possess a college degree in business or related field, MBA preferred.
