The Job Details are as follows:

CONTENTdm, an exciting product of OCLC, serves libraries, research institutions, and historical societies with a robust platform tailored for the distribution of digital media. This includes a wide spectrum of documents, images, and audio/video clips. Our global clientele, ranging from historical societies to public and research libraries, leverage CONTENTdm to spotlight their unique digital archives.

As a lead software engineer on CONTENTdm, you will be a pivotal part of the Entity Management Systems team. Here's your golden ticket to join an exuberant crew of developers, testers, and architects. Collaborate across a global tech division encompassing 300+ tech enthusiasts. Shape our processes, influence tech decisions, steer our business and architectural pathways, and above all, partner with development managers to ensure our technical solutions resonate with our overarching value goals.

Required Qualifications:

• A minimum of 8+ years of software development experience including experience leading development teams.


• Strong front-end development with React and other front-end tooling/frameworks.


• Experience with backend development using either Python(preferred) or Java.


• Adept in developing and utilizing REST APIs and other application integrations.


• Strong troubleshooting, analysis, and problem-solving skills. 

• Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with developers on the team as well as senior technology and business leaders.


• Passionate about mentorship.Leaders are expected to a

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS expertise including: EC2, Lambda, S3, Fargate, and Cognito.


• DevOps abilities such as CloudFormation and/or Teraform, common CI servers, etc.


• Familiarity with docker and deploying containerized applications.


• Some expertise developing in Java is a plus.


• Experience with search tools such as Lucene, SOLR, Elasticsearch, or OpenSearch is a plus.
