The Avalon program provides a safe, stable, and highly structured environment by combining intensive staffing, a milieu culture, mental health interventions and behavior modification. Youth are assessed at in-take and receive on-going evaluation. Individual, group, family and milieu therapy is a part of everyday life. Youth also receive case management, medication support and monitoring, expressive arts, special education, crisis intervention, behavior management and skill-building. The goal of the program is to maximize a residents level of functioning to enable them to engage in a pattern of everyday living like that of non-disabled peers. We strive to increase a residents abilities to live in a less restrictive environment with less intensive staffing, less formal structure, and more relaxed programming.

What You Will Do
The Avalon Program Residential Supervisor works with the Residential Manager in monitoring residents within the residence as well as staff assigned to that residence. The Residential Supervisor is also responsible for assisting the Residential Manager with scheduling of staff, crisis intervention, training, interviewing applicants, reference checking, and participating in agency in-service trainings.

Salary Range
In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this California position is between $24.65 and $32.15 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

What You Bring to The Table (requirements):
A. Degree in a social science field or equivalent years experience working in residential setting with this or a similar population, OR two years full-time experience in a residential setting or working with the population served. Meet the minimum training and experience requirements of CAs Division of Community Care Licensing.
Demonstrated understanding of the developmental milestones of children or youth to provide care, treatment and services.Demonstrated cultural responsiveness in working with diverse families and communities.Demonstrated ability to utilize de-escalation techniques that align with the trauma informed care model as part of intervention strategy for working with participants in crisis who are responding to triggers/stressors and/or demonstrating early indicators of distress.Clean driving record; current CA Drivers License or ability to obtain within 10 days after hire.Basic computer and keyboarding competence with the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and/or competency with electronic clinical documentation systems.
Preferred
A. Degree and work experience.Experience with or knowledge of designing, supervising, monitoring, changing, and discontinuing individualized behavioral interventions.One (1) or more years experience with program target population preferred (Example: intellectually disabled, homeless, teens or young adults, emotionally disturbed)One (1) or more years experience with program modality (example: school-based, residential, mobile/community-based, assertive community treatment, wraparound, etc.).Demonstrated ability to assess, triage and organize work.Demonstrated ability in using a strength-based, culturally competent approach to supervision, participant and community service.Experience with relevant evidence-based practices (e.g., CBT, DBT, trauma-informed approaches).
