Job Description:

As the Director of Industry Relations, of our Traffic Solutions division, you will monitor trends and identifying opportunities for the PPG Traffic Solutions business to lead and shape the road markings industry. This includes ensuring that the business has an active role in setting industry standards, driving implementation of solutions, shaping specifications, participating in state/federal research funding opportunities, and promoting collaboration among partners.

You will directly report to the Director, Global Marketing & Specialty and will be located in Greensboro, NC. PPG offers excellent Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits; matching 401k + retirement savings; and Paid Vacation, Holiday pay

Key Responsibilities

• Implement strategic plans to achieve PPG Traffic Solutions' growth and improvement goals; Stay up to date with industry trends, latest technologies, and best practices to lead innovation.

• Engage with important partners, including government agencies, industry associations, and private companies, to foster collaboration and build relationships.

• Advocate for the industry's interests by participating in industry conferences, seminars, and workshops.

• Collaborate with teams to address industry challenges and develop partnership solutions.

• Analyze regulatory developments related to road markings at the federal, state, and local levels; Identify opportunities for PPG Government Affairs team to engage with policymakers, legislators, and regulatory bodies to give feedback on the development and revision of specifications.

• Identify opportunities for PPG to provide expert guidance on industry standards and compliance requirements, identify research opportunities, and partnerships to grow road markings technologies and practices.

• Evaluate new materials, techniques, and equipment to improve the effectiveness of road markings, and promote and increase awareness of the value of road markings and their impact on road safety, traffic flow, and infrastructure maintenance.

• Collaborate with teams from multiple departments such as Product Management, Specifications, Research and Development, Field Technical Services, Sales, Government Affairs, Commercial, and Operations to address industry challenges, develop solutions, and implement strategic programs.

• Work with the Communication and Marketing teams to promote the industry, and develop messaging and materials for external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or graduate-level degree in Business Administration/Marketing

• 10 years in the road markings industry, with experience in leadership and business development, and knowledge of regulations/specifications in the road marking industry, including implementation

• Experience with trade association committee participation and leadership

• Experience working with federal and state government agencies
