The External Reporting/Accounting Policy team provides regulators and the Partnership with high-quality reporting, accounting and technical expertise for compliance and provides guidance to assist business partners make informed business decisions. The Accounting Manager is primarily responsible for technical accounting research and analysis, including leading the Partnership's compliance with the SEC's proposed Environmental, Social and Governance ("ESG") external reporting regulations. Additionally, the Accounting Manager will assist with the management and evaluation of the Partnership's contracts to ensure complete and accurate accounting treatment.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to establish complete and accurate data, defined processes and controls and disclosures for compliance with the proposed SEC ESG rules

  • Draft accounting memos, primarily for ESG, that summarize relevant facts, accounting guidance, key business considerations and impacts and technical accounting conclusions

  • Assist with the enhancement of the Partnership's processes for the review and analysis of contracts to conclude on the accurate accounting treatment for leases, fixed assets, expense recognition, capitalization of software and cloud computing costs, revenue recognition, etc.

  • Help track the status of firm projects and evaluate contracts to ensure accurate and timely accounting for costs

  • Efficiently and effectively communicate accounting guidance and treatment to stakeholders at all levels

  • May assist with research and evaluation of GAAP accounting implications for new business strategies and new SEC reporting rules and regulations

  • Occasionally consult with departments within Finance to help support the accurate interpretation and application of the Partnership's accounting policy


 


  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

  • 6+ years of experience, preferably in public accounting 

  • CPA required

  • Proficient knowledge of GAAP, SEC Reporting and internal controls (SOX)

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex accounting matters

  • Strong investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in teams and independently

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously

  • Attentive to detail

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
