Arthrex is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. Arthrex Manufacturing is actively searching for a Production Coordinator. This position will be located at the new Arthrex manufacturing facility in Pendleton, SC. The hours for this position are Weekend Shift (6:00am to 6:00pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
This position involves the assembly and testing of medical products and related packaging. Therefore, the work is performed in a clean room environment. Employees who work in clean rooms have a gowning process which includes wearing a hair net, lab coat and booties over shoes. Employees who work in clean rooms may not wear makeup, jewelry, perfumes, hair gels, fake eyelashes, fake nails, etc.
This Position Includes:
A one-time sign-on bonus of $2,000.00 minus appropriate tax withholding will be paid to you on the first pay period after you start your employment at Arthrex.
Main Objective:
To lead and oversee multiple teams assembling and packaging medical devices following Arthrex Manufacturing Inc. assembly and packaging processes and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Be an advocate for safety, working with support groups to preventatively identify and address risks as well as coordinating with Supervisors to respond to incidents and identify solutions to prevent recurrence. Ensure your teams are aware and engaged in safety.
Possess the ability to effectively communicate with department personnel, quality personnel, and supervisors as it relates to ideas, questions, and concerns.
Assist Sutures/Textiles Supervisors in overseeing production coordinators' individual lines in the clean room to ensure safe, error free assembly and labeling.
Responsible for maintaining accuracy of secured Kanban/Replenishment inventory and material issuance against specific work orders
Check materials (lot, PN and Qty.) prior to production use and request additional material as needed to avoid production downtime
Verify and complete assigned portions of device history record and enter transactions in SAP accurately as needed
Ensure Production Coordinators are following 1-piece flow and performing work to line setup cards, when available.
Continuously monitoring lines for process improvement
Assist Production Coordinators with ensuring proper utilization of manpower for continuous flow manufacturing on the production line.
Interface with PHT system providing run rates and reporting production issues including downtime information.
Train employees on new products, product line layouts, work instructions, packaging instructions, procedures and assembly techniques gained via experience. Provide explanations / reasons for techniques used and their cause.
Liaison to Engineering, and Training, and for OJT training.
In addition to performing the job function of Sr. PC it is the expectation that they will assist in PC coverage, and/or role as necessary.
Coordinate with boxing personnel regarding product count and quality.
Material reconciliation and paperwork review.
Provide feedback, both positive and negative, as it relates to employee performance to Supervisor, or as directed by Supervisor.
Continue to strive towards self-development as well as departmental.
Notify Supervisor of any production, safety or performance issues as they arise.
Assist Sutures/Textiles Supervisors with interpreting and adhering to the daily Sutures/Textiles schedule.
Follow up with Clean room personnel on any training gaps.
Develop operators including promoting cross training across all functional areas in Clean room.
Serve as designee for assigned area when Supervisor is not present. Assume specific roles of Supervisor for assigned area when one is not present.
Support troubleshooting activities. (NCR's)
Oversees production performance during the shift to ensure Schedule attainment, and efficiency levels are met
Maintain training records. (CTM)
Reporting to include daily, OEE, etc.
Support MPI/CI initiatives, and coordinate area set-ups
Assists with the inventory, and maintenance of the tools, and supplies
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
At least 4 years of manufacturing experience related to technical and mechanical aspect of manufacturing including operation of packaging equipment preferred
Sutures/Textiles experience preferred
Successful completion of the Leadership Development Program
1 year of experience in a lead / coordinator role in a regulated manufacturing environment required
Experience in Lean manufacturing environment is preferred
Experience with computerized manufacturing system is desirable (Oracle, SAP, etc.)
Requires business language reading and comprehension, solving simple mathematical equations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and the ability to perform tasks through verbal communication
Train the Trainer program
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
Work Order problem solving and DHR documentation and reconciliation.
Have strong/proficient interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain professionalism at all times.
Awareness of legal ramifications of actions such as favoritism, inappropriate comments, preferable treatment/assignments.
Must have the ability to perform tasks by reading, understanding and following work instruction/documents provided.
Knowledge and ability to interpret / comprehend manufacturing/packaging/work instructions.
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
Knowledge of administrative procedures and computer systems such as word processing, managing files and records, Excel, Power Point, MQ1, SAP, and Microsoft Outlook.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
The technology and the frequency of the technology required to perform this job are as follows; the occasional operation of some textile equipment, winding, suture attaching machines, tipping & cutting, label printing, weigh scales, label dispenser machine, manual sealers, cleaning machine, and general test equipment.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, problem solve and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Work Environment:

A cleanroom is a controlled environment where products are manufactured, in which the concentration of airborne particles is controlled to specified limits. These contaminants are generated by people, processes, facilities, and equipment and must be continually removed from the air. Strict rules and procedures are followed to prevent contamination of the product. The only way to control contamination is to control the total environment- air flow rates and direction, pressurization, temperature, humidity, specialized filtration and the sources of these particles all need to be tightly controlled. Temperature ranges from 69F-73F. Hearing protection will be required.
