Position Overview

With so much taking shape at Yahoo and an immense opportunity to share our story, the Yahoo Communications team is looking for an experienced social media manager to spearhead the development and execution of an editorial strategy specifically for the brand's LinkedIn account.

This role will be responsible for developing the playbook for LinkedIn and executing the game plan, while seeking new ways to grow and evolve our owned storytelling more broadly via LinkedIn. This includes exploring newsletter formats, building an executive presence, developing and curating visual, written and video content, managing growth and more.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Create and implement an editorial strategy focused on growing and engaging key audiences on LinkedIn

  • Work across the communications organization to develop informative and engaging content for the Yahoo brand and executive LinkedIn pages

  • Consult on and support proactive efforts for key executives across LinkedIn as well as other Yahoo LinkedIn accounts

  • Understand the needs of the business and how to tap into social and cultural conversation through owned content development

  • Develop, draft, and manage all content and community response, overseeing the channel(s) on a day-to-day basis

  • Work directly with the creative team to develop visual storytelling assets from stills to video

  • Identify and execute thought leadership opportunities and find unique ways to collaborate with partners and brands to amplify content further

Qualifications:


  • 6+ years of relevant social media-focused experience in an agency or in-house role

  • Proven success managing and growing a social channel or accounts for a company / brand

  • Experience working in a scaled organization and interfacing directly with leadership and executive level stakeholders

  • Must be a creative self starter who can find an opportunity and build a strategy to meet it

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple projects at once

  • A team player who is ready to roll up their sleeves and help build this new function

The compensation for this position ranges from $90,750.00 - $188,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
