Braun Intertec is looking for a Staff Scientist to join our Permitting and Compliance team in Houston, Texas. Flexible work schedule with the opportunity to work from home at least part-time in the Houston area available.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Assist on multimedia (air quality, water, waste, and wastewater) projects with technical work and support of project deliverables.
Perform calculations with Microsoft Excel.
Provide occasional technical work and support of project deliverables for projects including:
Water and wastewater compliance and permitting
Solid and hazardous waste management
SPCC plan development and compliance
Environmental auditing and site inspections
Environmental Reporting (i.e., Annual Waste Summaries, EPCRA Tier II Reports, SARA Toxic Release Inventory Reports, Air Emissions Inventory Reports, Annual Compliance Reports, etc.)
Work with project manager and client to ensure project objectives are met.
Assist in meeting scope, schedule, and cost expectations for projects.
Receive mentoring on technical questions from senior staff.
Desire to grow technical and project management skillsets.
Support a variety of teams on projects.
Communicate effectively with internal and external clients.
Required Education/Experience/Skills:
B.S. degree or higher in Environmental Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
0-3 years of direct multi-media regulatory experience or relevant coursework.
Data analysis, proficient in Microsoft platform applications
Written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
Demonstrate problem solving and critical thinking skills.
Demonstrated experience, knowledge, and/or coursework in multi-media compliance as they apply to industrial, energy, and commercial clients.
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
OSHA HAZWOPER preferred.
