Rapid Response Consultant (Beaver/Lawrence Counties) at Glade Run Lutheran Services in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

 Position Summary:

The Rapid Response Consultant is responsible for providing immediate and short-term behavioral support to early childhood education programs and families when a child is at risk of suspension or expulsion due to challenging behaviors. This role involves working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including Early Intervention (EI) professionals, behavioral health experts, and Early Learning Resource Center (ELRC) staff, to implement evidence-based interventions and provide coaching to educators and families. The consultant will focus on creating a supportive environment that enhances the social-emotional development of young children and builds the capacities of adults to manage challenging behaviors effectively.

Working within designated counties in Region 3 (including Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Indiana, and Lawrence Counties)  this role will focus on servicing Beaver and Lawrence Counties specifically.

Qualifications: 

Education:


  1.     Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Counseling or a related field required. 

  2.     Experience in Behavior Modification and Applied Behavioral Analysis preferred. 

Experience:

•    Minimum of two years of experience providing behavioral health services to children and families, preferably in home or school-based

     settings.
•    Experience working with early childhood populations and familiarity with early childhood education systems is highly desirable.
•    Past or current Experience working in Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS or BHRS) highly preferred.

Skills:

•    Strong knowledge of behavioral assessment and intervention techniques, including ABA and Positive Behavioral Intervention and

     Supports (PBIS).
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly build trust and rapport with diverse families and

     professionals.
•    Ability to work effectively in high-stress, dynamic environments and manage multiple priorities.
•    Proficient in the use of technology for documentation, communication, and virtual meetings.
•    Understanding of Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) highly desired

Licenses/Certifications:

•    Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and acceptable driving record required.
•    Must have acceptable Pennsylvania State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse History Clearance, and FBI clearance

Physical Requirements:

•    Ability to travel within the designated service area.
•    Capable of performing job duties in educational settings 
•    Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally and perform activities that may require physical restraint in emergencies.

Work Environment:

•    This position involves frequent travel and working in diverse community settings, including homes and early childhood education

      facilities.
•    The role may involve exposure to challenging behaviors and emotionally charged situations.

POSITION SPECIFIC CORE RESPONSIBILITIES & COMPETENCIES:
 1.    Rapid Response Coordination:

a.    Respond to requests for support within 48 hours for early childhood programs experiencing challenging behaviors that may lead to

       expulsion or suspension.
b.    Collaborate with program staff, families, and the multidisciplinary team to develop a case-based, action-oriented plan that addresses

       the immediate needs of the child and the classroom environment.

2.    Behavioral Assessment, Intervention and Documentation:

a.    Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and behavioral assessments to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviors.
b.    Utilize assessment tools and scales (Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence, Motivation Assessment Scales, Functional Behavioral

       Analysis), observation and data tracking to take behavioral data during session
c.    Analyze behavioral data and be able to provide a report of data that will be given to the Rapid Response Team, school, and parent if

       appropriate. 
d.    Complete observation reports, data, analysis of data, and written recommendations. 
e.    May provide on-site coaching, training,  and/ or support to educators and families, focusing on building positive relationships,

       effective classroom management, and creating supportive learning environments.
f.     Maintain accurate and timely records of all assessments, interventions, and follow-up activities in compliance with agency and state

       regulations.
g.    Provide regular reports on program outcomes and participate in data collection 
h.    Documentation of travel time to the location of the observation

3.    Collaboration and Partnership:

a.    Work closely with Early Intervention (EI) professionals, ELRC staff, and other community partners to ensure seamless service

       delivery and continuity of care.
b.    Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Rapid Response Team (RRT) model.
c.    Engage with community stakeholders to build and maintain strong partnerships that support the sustainability of the RRT initiative.
d.    Facilitate workshops and provide ongoing support to help educators and families implement best practices for managing challenging

       behaviors.
