Description: Our client, a renowned gaming company, is currently seeking a Game Designer II to take a pivotal role in shaping the direction of their popular strategy game. In this position, you will be instrumental in designing and creating new champion and adventure content for the game's primary mode. Your contributions will directly influence in-game experiences, captivating and engaging players worldwide.
This job will have the following responsibilities:
Design innovative champions, powers, adventures, and other content types for the game.
Develop a deep understanding of the game's audience to tailor designs that cater to their preferences and expectations.
Utilize data analysis to identify and seize opportunities to enhance the player experience in PvE content.
Evaluate the scope and depth of potential design solutions, foreseeing consequences and collaborating to determine optimal outcomes.
Implement card, adventure, and power content using proprietary scripting tools.
Enhance existing design frameworks and methodologies, and develop new approaches to game design.
Collaborate with teams across design, insights, product, and narrative to deliver comprehensive design solutions.
Actively seek and integrate feedback from both colleagues and players to refine and adjust design directions.
Qualifications & Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in game design, specifically within the strategy games sector.
Proven ability to work with scripting languages to create game content.
Experience in leading design initiatives and collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
Skilled in using data-driven insights to inform design decisions and improve player satisfaction.
Strong foundation in mechanics and systems design, particularly within card and strategy games.
Demonstrated ability to tune and balance game content effectively.
Passionate about creating engaging and innovative game experiences.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex design concepts and solutions clearly.
Open to feedback and adept at incorporating it into design improvements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with card games and their unique features.
Broad experience in mechanics and systems design within strategy games.
