We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant with a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to join our client's finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing our financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and assisting in the preparation of accurate financial statements.




Key Responsibilities:




  • Maintain and manage general ledger accounts and ensure proper documentation

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts

  • Perform reconciliations of accounts, including bank reconciliations, account payables, receivables, and payroll accounts

  • Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely

  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings

  • Assist in audits by preparing necessary documentation and supporting schedules

  • Ensure compliance with all internal controls and regulatory requirements

  • Support month-end and year-end close processes

  • Work closely with other departments to ensure accuracy of financial information



Requirements:




  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required


  • 2+ years of experience in accounting, with strong knowledge of GAAP

  • Proficiency in accounting software (experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or other ERP systems is a plus)

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting and general ledger functions

  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills



Preferred Qualifications:




  • CPA or progress towards CPA certification is a plus

  • Experience with internal or external audits
