We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant with a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to join our client's finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing our financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and assisting in the preparation of accurate financial statements.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and manage general ledger accounts and ensure proper documentation
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts
Perform reconciliations of accounts, including bank reconciliations, account payables, receivables, and payroll accounts
Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely
Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings
Assist in audits by preparing necessary documentation and supporting schedules
Ensure compliance with all internal controls and regulatory requirements
Support month-end and year-end close processes
Work closely with other departments to ensure accuracy of financial information
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
2+ years of experience in accounting, with strong knowledge of GAAP
Proficiency in accounting software (experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or other ERP systems is a plus)
Strong knowledge of financial reporting and general ledger functions
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA or progress towards CPA certification is a plus
Experience with internal or external audits
