Summary of Position:

Provide packaging technical engineering leadership for the North American Personal Care manufacturing platforms. The position is accountable for defining, implementing, and optimizing the current and future portfolio Personal Care packaging equipment, including Robotic optimization. This includes all elements of process and equipment from supporting the strategic vision through Life cycle management. Serve as the technical engineering representative on the BCC Value Stream Packaging team.

In this role, you will:


  • Coach and mentor packaging technical resources.

  • Build documented technical knowledge for the portfolio of Personal Care packaging technologies to facilitate the development of packaging technical knowledge.

  • Data driven analysis to identify top loss sources and root cause problem solving.

  • Partner with R&E, Manufacturing, and the Personal Care Value Stream teams to develop packaging technology roadmaps that support the product and supply chain efficiency strategies.

  • Cross-functionally collaborate with product, materials, brand packaging, and value stream resources.

  • Provide technical subject matter expertise and oversight for the Personal Care packaging technologies.

  • Maintain and support North America and Global relationships.

  • Technical liaison to Research and Development teams. 

Influence:

This role will interact daily with leaders across the Kimberly-Clark organization (R&E, Supply Chain, manufacturing, marketing, and sales.) This position will also have strong mentor / coaching relationships with engineers and technicians across the BCC Value Stream organization and in the manufacturing facilities.

To succeed in this role, you will need the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or scientific discipline or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years of engineering, scientific/technical experience, or operations

  • Demonstrated ability to drive process development in all project types (development, innovation/renovation, life cycle maximization)

  • Strong LEAN/problem solving/technical documentation skills.

  • Strong communication, both verbal and written

  • Strong technical skills or working knowledge of Personal Care packaging technologies

  • Strong business acumen

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Ability to network, collaborate, and influence in an organization across staff functions and departments as well as manufacturing sites.

  • Technical understanding of manufacturing systems, materials, product, and competitive process knowledge

  • Demonstrated ability to conceive, develop, and validate ideas leading to new or improved products, processes, materials, and systems.

  • Process validation working knowledge.

  • Automation and robotics

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt
