Job description and requirements
The second languages division is currently looking for an in-house editor to develop ESL materials for school and/or higher education level courses.
TC Media Livres' Second Language Division develops teaching materials for English and French as second languages. Their publications are aimed at all levels of education and are distributed across Canada and internationally.
Ensuring that projects, both print and digital, are published on time, within budget and in accordance with in-house standards and best practices.
Participating in the definition of concept and ensuring that the final product meets the needs of the target audience.
Supervising authors, consultants and other collaborators who will be involved in projects for which you are responsible.
Directing authors as they write manuscript, incorporating feedback from consultants and other stakeholders as appropriate.
Developing and maintaining a network of key contacts in the field of ESL learning and teaching.
University degree, preferably in second language education or a related field
At least five (5) years of relevant work experience
Good management skills and ability to manage tight timelines and multiple parallel tasks
Knowledge of editing, the publishing industry and the education sector, an asset
A familiarity with educational technologies, an asset
Fluency-level English skills – both in the spoken and written language and a solid working knowledge of French
Excellent general knowledge
