Altarum's Community Health Practice Area is seeking a Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Specialist/Project Manager to support multiple projects aimed at improving maternal, child and family health. This position will focus on leading and supporting projects related to our maternal and child health portfolio funded mainly by the federal government. Work may include managing projects, providing training and technical assistance to our clients and grantees, collecting primary data, developing written products, facilitating online and face-to-face meetings and webinars, facilitating partner and grantee engagement, developing reports, and working with cross-agency teams to support maternal and child health programs. You will have the opportunity to use your knowledge of maternal and child health to generate insights that inform innovative public health and health services solutions. Responsibilities
Model the values of the organization
Lead large and small MCH projects and serve as a MCH expert on a portfolio of work related to technical assistance and training and evaluation and assessment work
Attend in person client meetings as needed in the DC area
Plan and develop activities, reports and products to support grantees
Facilitate small and large group meetings, engagement sessions, trainings, and webinars
Build and maintain effective working relationships with external partners in MCH; identify partnerships and promote relationship-building
Work effectively in a team environment
Balance the needs of multiple simultaneous projects with competing deadlines

Liaise and coordinate with a range of clients and project partners
Develop and maintain productive relationships with clients including developing appropriate approaches to addressing client concerns and pain points

Monitor and track project execution to ensure budgets and timelines are met; Manage processes for budgets, timelines, technical documentation, project briefings and reviews, and take ownership of all contract deliverables and program success
Implement quality assurance and control processes for project deliverables and services
Review and quality check projects, prepare monthly status reports and financial reports
Identify subcontractor needs and sources, review statements of work, and monitor subcontractor performance
Oversee development of project plans and resources estimates, including planning level of effort projections; set objectives, develop project work plans, establish milestones, and assign tasks to staff to fulfill scope of work
Follow all applicable privacy and confidentiality procedures in daily work
Contribute to proposals and business development efforts
Qualifications
Master's degree in public health or related field preferred, with at least 10 years of experience.
Experience working in Maternal and Child Health (MCH) (i.e. MCH workforce development, MCH health equity, early childhood, child and adolescent health) and 3+ years of experience managing projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven track record of strong public speaking skills
Exceptional attention to quality and detail
An inquisitive and innovative nature, integrity, willingness to take on new roles, team-focused mentality, and a commitment to continuously learning and improving
Self-motivated with demonstrated skills in independent management of time and tasks
Experience in virtual and in-person meeting facilitation
Proficiency in all basic Microsoft Office software applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Experience with approaches for engagement of community members and persons with lived experience, preferred
Ability to travel and provide TA event coordination on-site, as needed

Our organization requires that all work, for the duration of your employment, must be completed in the continental U.S. unless required by contract.
If you are local to our offices in Arlington, Silver Spring, Novi, or Portland this role will be hybrid (in office on Wednesdays - collaboration days).
Must be able to work during eastern time unless approved by your manager.
