The primary responsibility of this position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Life Enrichment/Activity Department to ensure that ongoing activities programming is designed to meet the interests and well-being of each resident.

Responsibilities:
Develop and distribute a monthly activities calendar and newsletter for residents and family members
Coordinate and schedule outside vendors and presenters
Participate in community event planning with the marketing staff
Prepare person centered Activities as a description for the monthly calendar
Create and update residents service plan preferences in their electronic health record
Make routine visits to residents
Plan, prepare and operate under the Activities budget
Participate in facility surveys by authorized government agencies
Attend quarterly LED meetings
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Additional education preferred
Must have a minimum of two years' experience in a social or recreation program or similar experience working in a healthcare setting
Food Handlers Card required upon hire
Knowledge and experience caring for and interacting with an elder population
Knowledge of computers, data entry/retrieval, output, etc.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, or regulatory agencies.
Able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the public
Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
