Job Description:
Tree Care and Grounds Maintenance
Hours, Term, and Pay:
- 40 hours per week, with flexibility
- Spring, Summer, and Fall
- $17 per hour
Responsibilities:
- Planting and caring for trees
- Weeding and maintaining shrub and perennial beds
- Removal of invasive trees and weeds
- Working in every area of the 148-acre arboretum
Requirements:
- Must be capable of strenuous physical work in an outdoor environment in all kinds of weather
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Basic landscaping and equipment experience desired, but not required
- Dependability is essential

Since the first trees were planted in 1996, The Brenton Arboretum’s collections have grown and developed in both variety and vigor. The landscape is home to approximately 2,500 plants representing more than 500 different species, cultivars, and hybrids.
The wide variety of The Brenton Arboretum’s collections, along with our commitment to excellent care and curation, has earned the institution Level III accreditation from the ArbNet network of arboreta.
