What Will Your Job Look Like?
The Mobility Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing mobility management plans, travel training program and coordinating all aspects of the paratransit eligibility program.
This position will sit at a location in El Paso, TX and contingent upon signed final contract on the awarded business.
Location: El Paso, TX
What you’ll do:
Assist in developing paratransit application
Conduct in person interviews
Conduct functional physical and/or cognitive assessment with applicants that may include:
Physical Functional Assessment using an outdoor course
FACTS
MMSE
Tinetti Balance and Gait Assessment
Conduct follow-up with applicant and/or healthcare professional, as needed
Based on assessment, determine best possible training model (i.e. one-on-one training, group training or train the-trainer training).
Based on ability level and goals of the individual, develop a personalized plan of instruction
Complete appropriate determination for each applicant while considering all information gathered including the application, interview, supplemental documentation, and/or Functional Assessment, as needed
Complete all documentation associated with each applicant
Input all information and thoroughly document each applicant appointment into software as appropriate
Create needed travel tools
Conduct route-and-scout for their trip
Provide one-on-one training, group training and train-the-trainer training
Field training includes but is not limited to:
Schedule trainings at the time and location of the specific routes requested;
Instruct individual on the importance of safety in independent travel;
Instruct individual on transit skills;
Instruct individual on how to travel routes including navigation and way-finding strategies;
Instruct individual on self-advocacy;
Instruct individual on how to develop strategies to use when lost or confused when traveling;
Instruct individual on how to handle emergencies;
Establish collaborative relationships with other professionals
Participate in appeals process, upon request
Review assessments and professional verifications
Complete all necessary reports, paperwork and maintain on-going applicant tracking logs and reports for MTM Transit and Client
Participate in community outreach and education as needed this could include conducting presentations and attending public meetings
Build rapport and communicate effectively with MTM and Client personnel to include administrators, management, support staff and applicant while providing high quality customer service including participation in staff meetings with leadership and/or Client
Work with management and the Client to follow through on service issues, troubleshooting problems, concerns, complaints, and training
Stay abreast of new research within the related field correlating to ADA assessments
Must conform to MTM Transit policies and HIPAA standards
Participate in initial and on-going training as required by MTM Transit and Client
Regular attendance required for assigned shifts and as outlined by MTM’s attendance policy
Adhere to all MTM established protocols and policies
What you’ll need:
Experience, Education & Certifications:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Must be currently licensed or certified with verification by the appropriate agency and/or licensed medical and /or education board approved. Examples include Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Recreational Therapist, Recreational Therapist Assistant, Registered Occupational Therapist, Registered Occupational Therapist Assistant, Registered Physical Therapist, Registered Physical Therapist Assistant, or Rehabilitation Specialist.
Minimum of one year of professional experience working with individuals with disabilities
Experience conducting information-gathering interviews or assessments
Familiarity with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA)
Skills:
Solid interviewing, assessment and observational skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse population
Ability to be trained in administering a standardized evaluation tool and be able to consistently administer and score such a tool according to established protocols
Ability to clearly communicate their findings and observations on the required database reports and notes, as well as in certification letters
Intermediate level of proficiency or above with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word & Excel
Professional and positive outlook when interacting with individuals, support staff, caregivers, and applicants
Strong interpersonal and communication skills that allow effective working relationships
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
Ability to work flexible hours
Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
Ability to work under limited supervision
Ability to make clear and factual observations
Additional language skills are preferred
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Ability to tactfully question and obtain information
Knowledge of the public transportation system & services
Knowledge of ADA complementary paratransit regulations, including, but not limited to, the regulatory definition of ADA paratransit eligibility
Ability to work well with the elderly and individuals with disabilities
Strong report writing and analysis skills

Minimum Salary: $19.65/ hr
Maximum Salary: $29.48/ hr
