The Radiation Therapist is an essential member of CMMC's radiation oncology treatment team!
Duties for the Radiation Therapist include:
Performing accurate delivery of prescribed radiation therapy under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist, using a variety of complex techniques and equipment.
Operate machines, such as linear accelerators, to deliver concentrated radiation therapy to the region of a patient's tumor.
Performs radiation therapy procedures on all patients including pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
Maintains daily records and documents technical details of treatment administered.
Understands use of all treatment accessories.
Maintains a thorough knowledge of CT Simulation techniques in CT Simulation.
Coordinates with the radiation oncologist and physics staff to insure proper positioning and measurements for planning and calculations.
Understands the function and utilization of therapy treatment equipment.
Is familiar with all equipment in their work areas as to include function, emergency shutdown procedures, warm-up procedures, and usage as it applies to the radiation therapy patient.
Able to complete patient setup, calculations and treatment on emergency basis.
During down times will assist in general radiology doing X-ray and CT.
Must be graduate of an accredited school of Radiation Therapy.
State of Montana Licensure required.
Registered ARRT
CPR Certification
2 years of experience preferred.
