We are seeking a highly-motivated and experienced Insurance Senior Accountant to join our dynamic and collaborative accounting department. In this role, you will report directly to the Controller and will be responsible for aspects of financial reporting, including journal entries, general ledger analysis & review, reconciliations of key accounts, internal controls, month-end close and ensuring timely and accurate financial statements for all entities (standalone and consolidated).
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Assist with the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.
Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Coordinate with external auditors during the audit process.
Assist with the design, implementation and maintenance of the company's internal control environment.
Assist with the implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures.
Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Identify opportunities for streamlining accounting processes and contribute to system enhancements.

Must haves
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field required.
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in the insurance industry.
Knowledge of GAAP, STAT, and financial reporting.
Familiarity with accounting software (general ledger experience) and proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently in a collaborative setting.
