Position Summary Job Description: The Mechanical Engineering program at York College of Pennsylvania invites applications for a non-tenure-track Visiting Instructor position for the 2025-2026 academic year (August 2025-May 2026). Technical areas of interest include the broad area of design and mechanics. Successful candidates will have the ability to teach courses such as Statics, Dynamics, Materials Science, and Strength of Materials as well as courses in topics such as engineering computation and engineering graphics. The ability to teach a broad variety of courses across the mechanics portion of the discipline is strongly preferred. Our engineering programs are characterized as hands-on with small class sizes and extensive student/faculty interactions. Students participate in three semesters of engineering work in an industry setting as part of our co-operative learning program prior to graduation. This gives our students valuable experience that they can then apply in their classroom learning.
Outcome: Successful instruction, grading, and evaluation of students in the Mechanical Engineering and related programs. Essential Functions
Present material during class sessions
Assign and grade homework and exams
Be available for student questions via email and/or in-person office hours
Maintain attendance, no-show, warning grade, and final grade records
Experience and Education Required Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field Required Skills and Qualifications Good communication skills.
