Tradebe is looking for a skilled Mobile Equipment Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in East Chicago. This is a great opportunity for experienced mechanics with a background in diesel-powered and mobile equipment. You'll work in an industrial setting where your mechanical expertise will directly support the safety and efficiency of plant operations.



Key Job Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on forklifts, backhoes, trackhoes, and other mobile equipment
  
  


• Troubleshoot and repair diesel-powered mobile equipment
  
  


• Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts
  
  


• Ensure all maintenance activities meet safety and environmental standards
  
  


• Track and manage maintenance work within budget guidelines
  
  


• Support compliance with the plant's preventive maintenance program
  
  


• Follow all company and regulatory safety protocols
  
  


• Take on additional tasks as needed to support operations
  
  

Do you have what it takes?

• High school diploma or equivalent


• Experience working in an industrial environment
  
  


• Proven ability to maintain and operate forklifts, backhoes, and similar equipment
  
  


• Strong understanding of diesel engine systems and mobile equipment maintenance
  
  


• Valid driver's license
  
  


• Your own tools for the job
  
  


• Preferred: 5-7 years of experience in industrial settings and with heavy equipment
  
  


• Bonus: Experience working on semi-trucks
