Nature of Work



The Risk Coordinator provides analytical and administrative support in furtherance of the company's core risk programs including subcontractor default insurance and builder's risk.



Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Assists Risk Manager and operations with subcontractor risk identification, communication and strategy.


• Works with Risk Manager to track projects in estimating or preconstruction and provide prequalification support as needed.


• Coordinates with subcontractors to obtain all necessary documentation and data for completion of the prequalification process.


• Leverages internal and external resources to drive best practices and business intelligence with respect to subcontractor risk management.


• Assists Risk Manager with monthly reporting, training and internal communications regarding company risk programs.


• Supports compliance within the company's risk programs by maintaining an accurate database of subcontractor data and documents.

Qualifications

• Ability to interpret basic business data including financial statements, WIP reports and safety metrics.


• Proficiency with technology and applications such as Word, Excel and cloud database & file management.


• Basic understanding of insurance, credit and surety products.


• Clear written and verbal communication.


• Displays strong analytical thinking skills when handling straightforward tasks.


• Attention to Detail - Demonstrates ability to check own work for accuracy and completeness while identifying main concepts and ideas.


• Ability to collaborate with and function well within a team-oriented environment.


• Self-starter with strong organizational skills.


• Continuous Learning - Ability to acquire and apply new knowledge to improve job performance.

Education

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent experience.

Experience

• 1+ years of related work experience preferred.


• Finance, accounting or construction background preferred.

Physical Demands and Working Environment

• Physical demands for this position are moderate. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be walking, standing, bending or lifting moderately heavy (25-50 pounds) items. The work may require specific but common physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity. Availability to travel as needed.
