What's the OPPORTUNITY? -BSA/AML Compliance Officer

The BSA/AML Compliance Officer plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity and reputation of our organization. This position is responsible for managing fraud and ensuring compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP) and Red Flag-Identity Theft regulations.

The BSA/AML Compliance Officer develops and implements strategies, policies, and procedures to minimize loss and mitigate risks associated with fraud and other illegal acts. This member of our team ensures all affected areas of the Credit Union are kept informed of changing laws and procedures for implementation to be completed at the appropriate time and makes recommendations for improving and strengthening internal controls and operating procedures.

What Can you Bring?

The minimum qualifications for the BSA/AML Compliance Officer position are:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years of BSA/AM similar or related experience, including relevant experience within a financial institution.
  • Require knowledge of governmental and financial regulations, laws, and guidelines including those from the NCUA, CFPB, and FINCEN.
  • Proficiency with Verafin BSA/AML software preferred.
  • CBAP, or other related certification from accredited associations (ABA, NAFCU, CUNA, etc.) preferred.
  • Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.
