Our client is one of the country's largest renewable energy producers. They have a range of clean energy generation facilities & are dedicated to providing carbon-free energy to support a more sustainable planet for future generations.

Role Overview

Our client seeks a Senior Manager, Policy to provide support to its Sustainability team through regulatory policy assessments, development & outreach. The successful candidate will have government & environmental regulation experience, & will be highly organized & self-driven.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop policies that support the company's business, including through alternative renewable energy technologies & energy markets
  • Help the company's management team with determining the most relevant federal regulations to focus on
  • Perform legal & quantitative assessments of existing regulations
  • Spearhead the assessment of potential new regulations that the company plans to propose Project manage & coordinate the company's comments & external messaging
  • Support with valuing the company's renewable energy assets in the context of both market & regulatory policies
  • Manage the company's relationships with relevant industry organizations & federal government entities
  • Determine & help with the implementation of requirements that ensure renewable energy technologies are valued appropriately
  • Support with financial valuations to positively impact federal regulations
  • Help to overcome challenges such as new regulations that may have a negative impact on the company's business
  • Provide policy strategy support

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong understanding of policies related to the environment
  • Knowledge of power transmission, power plant operations, environmental policy & wholesale market design
  • Experience creating company positions that factor in continually changing policies & regulations
  • Strong experience with federal policies
  • Government experience
  • Excellent oral & written communications skills
  • Highly organized, collaborative & self-driven
  • Ability to travel, as needed
