We can't do what we do best - make our great-tasting sausage products - unless our equipment is running well and reliably. This is where you'll do your part to make Johnsonville great, by keeping our machines, lines and facilities running. You and your maintenance teammates will be responsible for all production and industrial refrigeration equipment, as well as our electrical and controls systems. You'll also work closely with our engineers and production members to make important upgrades to our production machinery, as innovate and grow our business. Johnsonville, LLC Maintenance and Engineering Coordinator Holton, KS Position Overview: This is an opportunity to help lead all aspects of the Maintenance Department on a journey to the Best in the World. The main function of this role is coaching facility maintenance members and maintenance processes. In addition, the Maintenance and Engineering Coordinator will be involved in planning, directing, and driving continuous improvement of all our processes to help us become the Best Company in the World that just happens to make sausage. Responsibilities:


  • Own and drive the safety of all Maintenance Members
  • Drive the implementation of Reliability Excellence as the Reliability Excellence PM Pillar Owner for the facility to maximize plant performance through use of PM, PdM, work order systems, etc.
  • As the facility technical leader provide leadership and coaching for the Maintenance Team Leaders and Maintenance Members to achieve superlative performance through the development of personal and technical development plans
  • Accountable for the monthly facility maintenance spend, focusing efforts on closing any gaps to target, by identifying key operating risks, opportunities, and contingencies to achieve target
  • Responsible for asset management including maximizing utilization, replacement, upgrading, maintenance, and tracking utilizing SAP
  • Develop and instill a culture of teamwork, safety, innovation, and customer service within the maintenance team as well as modeling these behaviors for other departments
  • Lead the strategic direction for all facility utilities to include ammonia refrigeration systems, infrastructure, thermal processes, etc.
  • Lead the environmental program for the facility and incident commander for the facility
  • Partner with Global Engineering to ensure facility capital needs are achieved
  • Facilitate and/or lead limited scope repair projects within the facility
  • Build joint ownership of the facility and equipment by partnering with other facility departments (production, sanitation, shipping, etc.) as well as Global Support functions (Engineering, Sourcing, Finance, etc.)
  • Pro-actively form, lead, participate and/or facilitate various teams designed to improve our quality and effectiveness of maintenance and production
  • Maximize the utilization of the skills of all Maintenance Members throughout the Company by perpetually communicating with the maintenance coordinators at the other facilities and sharing experiences
  • Ensure the success of maintenance planning/scheduling and inventory control functions to maximize the effectiveness of the maintenance team

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred; Engineering or related field preferred

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years industrial maintenance experience required
  • A minimum of 5 years of strong demonstrated ability in coaching/leading people successfully required

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated self-growth and development of others to higher levels of responsibility
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and follow up skills
  • Willingness to drive and execute everything it takes to develop and lead the best maintenance team in the world
  • Knowledgeable in regulatory compliance (Safety, USDA, and EPA) required
