Job Summary:
Responsible for US GAAP and IFRS financial reporting and analysis, development, and maintenance of financial reporting controls.
Responsibilities: |
· Assist with the preparation of quarterly, annual and periodic US GAAP and IFRS financial statements to AWAC parent (“Fairfax”).
· Research SEC regulations and developments in reporting requirements, evaluate peer company filings, and continually improve the company’s financial statements.
· Research FASB and IFRS developments and draft relevant accounting policy, including updating AWAC’s accounting policy manuals.
· Assist in the identification and implementation of process improvements related to the GAAP and IFRS financial statement process.
· Compile and utilize large data sets for financial reporting and analysis.
· Provide financial reports and analysis, as may be required.
· Maintain financial controls and procedures in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley; develop and maintain departmental controls and consistent procedures.
· Liaise with internal and external auditors.
· Maintain consolidation process and reporting related to AWAC entities under US GAAP and IFRS. |
· Accounting certification (CA, CMA or CPA).
· Bachelor’s Degree in economics or finance.
· 4-6 years’ experience in public reporting for insurance and/or reinsurance companies.
· General knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS (including IFRS 17 a plus); experience with preparing US GAAP and IFRS financial statements.
· Ability to compile and analyze large data for financial reporting and process improvements.
· Excellent proven communication, management and interpersonal skills.
· Demonstrated excellence in written communication. |
Compensation
The below annualized base pay range is a broad range based on analysis of similar positions in the market. The actual base pay for the position may be above or below he listed range and determined by a number of considerations, including but now limited to complexity, location, and scope of the role, along with experience, skills, education, training, and other conditions of employment. Base salary represents one compensation of Allied World comprehensive total reward package, which may also include annual incentive compensation rewards.
