The Assistant Dining Room R Manager is responsible for managing all business aspects of the restaurant, lead day-to-day operations, and provide excellent customer service to our members and guests. This position may also be referred to as Restaurant Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the dining room manager with interviewing, hiring, training, supervising, counseling and disciplining dining room and bar staff for the efficient operation of the outlets.
Organizes and conducts pre-shift meetings communication pertinent information to the staff, such as forecast, menu changes and future events.
Schedules and directs staff in their assignments in the Dining Room Managers absence.
Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to the staff regarding room set up, side work; etc.
Interacts positively with members and guests promoting facilities and services.
Fields member complaints by conducting through research of the situation in order to choose the most effective solutions.
Makes decisions and take actions based on previous experience and good judgment, sometimes revising procedures to accommodate unusual situations with approval of dining room manager.
Moves throughout the facility and kitchen areas to visually monitor and take action to ensure service standards are met.
Assess appearance of products and check preparation methods to determine quality. Gives guidance toward improvement and make necessary adjustments for consistency.
Oversees main bar and outside bar.
Assist with closing of the dining room or pool bar and grill when needed.
Assists with cost effectiveness of all aspects of the operation. Helps develop and implement cost savings.
Ensures maintenance of equipment by calling for repairs and training staff on proper usage with dining room manager approval of quotes.
Provides a clean and safe environment by assigning and assisting with cleaning.
Assists staff in their job duties as necessary due to volume.
Available to work overtime when required

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
Wear proper personal protective equipment as required for the task or work area.
Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.
Technical and Physical Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
TIPS certified preferred
2 years’ restaurant experience preferred
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to bend, stoop, lift, rotate, reach
Ability to lift 50 pounds
