Job Overview:

The Key Account Manager position is a customer interfacing member of the Cooper sales team, responsible for managing the relationship with major strategic accounts on behalf of the company.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for the following:


  • Overall relationship management of one or more strategic accounts

  • Building senior-level relationships with customers up to and including C-suite

  • Negotiating and implementing major multi-year strategic contracts

  • Communicating new Cooper innovations & technological solutions to address customer operational issues

  • Selling complex multi-year emissions and performance upgrade projects

  • Developing long-term account plans, including financial forecasts and technology plans

  • Travel ~50% of the time throughout the US

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred; minimum high-school diploma or GED with 10 years sales experience required

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in sales origination or other customer-facing role

  • Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships with customers

  • Strong contractual negotiation experience

  • Strong reciprocating engine and compressor or other heavy industrial experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Commitment to safety, customer service quality and to work in team-oriented environment
