ZO Motors is seeking a highly motivated vehicle chassis engineering expert to join us in the development and deployment of our zero-emission commercial vehicles with Li-ion battery and Hydrogen technologies for the global markets. This individual will collaborate closely with both internal team and external suppliers to customize the products to mee the regulations and customer needs of target regions. This is an important part of our company's product roadmap of making vehicles in America. This individual must have strong knowledge of chassis system and their suppliers for Steering, Brakes, Suspension, tire/wheel systems and must be proficient at influencing cross-functionally and deliver strong results. Job Responsibilities
Establish chassis system requirements and specifications for our class-3 to class-8 trucks for the purpose of replacing foreign made parts with North America made parts.
Identify North America local suppliers for the chassis systems and work with supply chain management team thru the process of supplier selection, RFQ, design & validation, certification & homologation, product launch, quality control and warranty.
Manage the entire project, plan and execute with clear focus on meeting project timeline and budget. Summarize progress status regularly to report to company executives.
Directly report to the company CTO and work cross-functionally with supply chain management, marketing & sales, homologation and regulations, manufacturing, and suppliers.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
5+ years working experiences in vehicle chassis systems, including steering, brakes, tire/wheels, and suspensions.
Experience in design release process and CAD systems.
Knowledge of zero emission commercial trucks and buses.
Familiar with regulatory requirements for vehicle chassis systems in North America.
Strong capability in managing suppliers/vendors to meet project objectives.
Good communication skills and high degree of autonomy with the ability to navigate ambiguous problems, develop solutions, and drive products forward with minimal guidance.
Expected to travel (~25%) overseas.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree or equivalent
Experience in chassis performance planning, simulation, and/or testing.
