The University of Miami Health System at Doral has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Bookkeeper with a hire date of June 2024.
The University of Miami Health System will soon open the second phase to our state-of-the-art facility in Downtown Doral that serves as a western hub for our distinguished regional network of ambulatory services. This 160,000 square foot expansion will continue to bring world-class academic medicine, cutting-edge technology, and innovative treatment options to the rapidly growing Doral community. UHealth at Doral will have services through the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, and the Desai Sethi Urology Institute, as well as specialties such as cardiology, endocrinology, otolaryngology, gastroenterology, dermatology, and more. The expansion will provide residents with innovative, specialized medical services in the heart of their community. Once complete, UHealth at Doral will have 8 operating rooms, 3 endoscopy procedure rooms, 33 cancer treatment bays, over 60 multidisciplinary exam rooms, and supporting ancillary services like imaging, lab, and respiratory therapy. UHealth at Doral will open in September 2024.



CORE JOB FUNCTIONS



  • Operates computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.

  • Checks figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.

  • Classifies, records, and summarizes numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records.

  • Debits, credits, and totals accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases.

  • Receives, records, and banks cash, checks, and vouchers.

  • Compiles statistical, financial, accounting or auditing reports and tables pertaining to such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses.

  • Reconciles or notes and reports discrepancies found in records to appropriate managing staff.

  • Assists with budget preparations and ensures expenditures are in accordance with code balances for item acquisition.

  • Conducts invoice activities and pays vendors for delivered materials.

  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS



  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience




Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:



  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles.

  • Knowledge of budget control methods, policies, and procedures.

  • Ability to prepare financial and accounting records.

  • Ability to analyze, consolidate, and interpret accounting data.

  • Ability to compile, organize, interpret, and communicate accounting data and results concisely.

  • Ability to manage a budget and work within the constraints of that budget.

Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
