Advertised Job Summary
The research specialist will work with the faculty principal investigator and grant staff to assist with NIH-funded research by conducting assessments on early development in high- risk groups of infants and toddlers with neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g., Down syndrome) using multiple behavioral, language, developmental, and physiological measures. This position also assists in managing data, preparing reports for families, preparing materials for assessments, and scheduling. Travel across the Southeast United States is required. This position is ideal for someone planning to apply to PhD programs in Communication Sciences, Psychology, Human Development and Family Sciences, or related fields.
Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working with families of children with neurodevelopmental conditions, or experience working with infants and toddlers with neurodevelopmental conditions.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
This individual must be able to communicate effectively with faculty and graduate and undergraduate students, as well as communicate effectively and sensitively with families of children with neurodevelopmental disorders. This individual must also be interested and effective in working with young children and their families.
