The Business Development Manager at HWCC plays a pivotal role in fostering economic growth and development within underserved communities across Wisconsin. This self-motivated individual will be responsible for providing direct services to business clients, offering technical and financial assistance, and actively engaging in networking and community outreach initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Engagement and Assistance:
Provide direct services to business clients, including entrepreneurs, startups, and existing business owners.
Offer guidance in business planning, financial projects, marketing strategies, and other aspects of business development.
Maintain confidentiality while working closely with clients from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Networking and Community Outreach:
Take initiative to network within the community and attend events where potential clients may be present.
Represent HWCC at various community events, fostering relationships with potential and existing clients.
Collaborate with the team to organize and facilitate webinars, presentations, and programs aimed at promoting HWCC's services and mission.
Financial Assistance and Loan Application Support:
Assist clients with loan application processes, including presenting applications to the Loan Review Committee and preparing closing documents.
Intake inquiries and collect client data to assess financial needs and eligibility.
Actively participate in planning and executing HWCC programs and initiatives related to financial assistance.
Regional Focus and Travel:
Primarily focus on the greater Milwaukee area, with occasional travel to neighboring communities and other regions in Wisconsin.
Attend special events and programs throughout Wisconsin as necessary throughout the year.
Applicant Criteria:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
Proven experience in business development, client management, or related roles.
Strong integrity, work ethic, and professionalism with the ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information appropriately.
Experience in financial services, loan application processes, or community development is a plus.
Knowledge of Wisconsin's business landscape and underserved communities is desirable.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
