What's the OPPORTUNITY? -Vice President of Accounting/Controller

The VP of Accounting/Controller is responsible for ensuring all credit union financial records are properly accounted for and display integrity, consistency; and follow generally accepted accounting practices and regulatory rules and regulations. This position is also responsible for performing various financial analyses for management, Board of Directors, and outside agencies.

The VP of Accounting/Controller will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by providing timely and accurate internal and external reporting including Asset Liability Management (ALM) Committee financial reports; Board of Director's financial reports; subsidiary ledger balancing reports; Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) Collateral reports; NCUA 5300 quarterly reports and other regulatory reports as required.

The VP of Accounting/Controller leads, coaches, and supervises the Accounting Department staff. They ensure training, establish goals and objectives, monitor, and evaluate performance, and provide guidance as needed to achieve objectives.

In addition to our generous benefit package the base pay for the VP of Accounting//Controller will be determined upon hire based upon the successful candidates' skills and qualifications.

What Can you Bring?

The minimum qualifications for the VP of Accounting/Controller position are:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, or a related field.
  • CPA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading a high functioning accounting department in a financial institution.
  • Minimum of 3 - 7 years executive/finance experience within the financial institutions industry.
  • Extensive experience with core information systems such as Symitar Episys, preferred.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
