Job Description:

Integrate component services to produce a cohesive and technically sound service solution proposal for Vertiv Services customers by providing technical support and customized service options to Vertiv Services Sales.  Individual will work closely with key Vertiv and Vertiv Services stakeholders to identify and integrate service solution proposal requirements to ensure proposals support Emerson’s profitability guidelines.  
Support sales of Service portfolio through efficient and effective quoting of large, complex service opportunities focused on data center precision Cooling solutions support.  
Accurate and complete data as well as effective communication with customers and LS Associates will be essential to the overall success of the position.


  • Develop clear, concise, and technically sound service solutions proposals for customer review and acceptance based on customer requirements and/or RFP's. These proposals may include multiple services delivered by multiple service providers.

  • Provide comprehensive LS quote support to ENP, LS and LNA sales associates. 

  • Produce customized service proposals/quotations from Vertiv Services to ensure proposal reflects proper scope, required technical   specifications, and Emerson profitability requirements.

  • Apply application engineering competencies to identify and recommend applicable service requirements.

  • Work with Vertiv Services Sales to define incremental scope and develop service solutions proposals based on the key findings and recommendations raised during system audits, professional assessments and/or electrical testing.

  • Distribute service reports that have been delivered from service partners to the initiating sales representatives 

  • Review PartnerWeb NSSR requests and assign work tickets to the correct service competency.  

  • Use and dominate engineering Tools as Partnerweb, LRS, SMS, LES to develop sales proposals in support to the Cooling business for Vertiv representatives and Vertiv Services Business Development Managers.

  • Review project specifications, drawings, RFPs to determine best solutions for customer critical space needs.

  • Create and develop ROI (Return of Investment Analysis), Project submittals, MOPs (method of procedure) and any other technical information required by sales department to ensure sales. 

  • Work directly with associate Application Engineers to support and train them on using all the quoting tools.

  • Review Request for Proposal (RFP) opportunities and develop comprehensive responses that include all requested company information and technical capabilities as well as professional service proposals suitable for presentation to end-users.

  • Apply application engineering competencies to identify and recommend applicable service requirements.

  • Track KPIs in CRM to develop metrics for forecast, trending and team utilization.  

  • Provide Guidance and Training to Junior Proposal Engineers.

  • Other duties as required


  • BA/BS degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • Five or more years experience in Cooling application engineering including commercial HVAC, ventilation and Precision Cooling.

  • Expert knowledge of ASHRAE, Data Center guidelines and Up time Institute regulations and best practices

  • Needs to have a strong understanding of data center infrastructure design objectives, performance factors, and physical requirements.

  • 2-5 years experience in technical scope review and formal proposal development.

  • Must have the ability to read and interpret HVAC drawings and specifications.

  • Strong understanding of direct expansion, chilled water technologies and components. 

  • Project management and leadership skills in managing a cross-functional project team

  • Knowledge of Vertiv systems and processes is required.

  • Knowledge and understanding of critical space environments, service products, and clients is required.

  • Strong organizational skills, detailed oriented and ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Excellent problem solving abilities and capable of resolving contract and product issues.

  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point and Adobe Acrobat

  • Team player with outstanding verbal and written communication skills.  

  • Self starter with good work habits, and able to work with minimal supervision
