Job Description:

Marketing Coordinator

O, The Oprah Magazine is currently seeking a polished, eager entry-level integrated marketing professional to work in the O, The Oprah Magazine Marketing Department in the New York office. The overall goal of the Marketing Coordinator is to provide event support to key O, The Oprah Magazine signature franchises, manage key marketing programs (in book pages and eblasts), write advertising proposals, and provide general department assistance while learning the various responsibilities of the different areas within the department. This position dually reports to the Associate Publisher, Marketing and the Executive Director, Marketing.

 

Responsibilities include:

•             Support and coordinate details of a variety of Marketing Department projects

•             Management and coordination of all department eblasts, and management of the marketing website

•             Assistance with special events, including coordination of invitation lists, responses and associated mailings, attending events as necessary, helping with set up and breakdown

•             Sourcing and creation of premiums for clients/programs, developing and maintaining a network of premium and gift resources for events and programs as needed

•             Proposal writing and coordination of RFP materials (once trained)

•             Copywriting, proofreading, of marketing materials

•             Overseeing of shipping, trafficking of projects, trafficking of materials to and from outside suppliers and clients 

•             Work with other Marketing Department staff to traffic and update materials as necessary 

•             General administrative work for the Associate Publisher, Marketing and Executive Director, Marketing, including meeting coordination, booking and managing travel, completing expense reports and preparing materials for calls and meetings

 

Ideal candidate will possess:

•             Positive attitude, solid work ethic, tenacious follow through 

•             Strong organizational skills with flawless attention to detail 

•             Ability to take direction and apply own creative skills and talent toward successful execution of assigned work 

•             Accurate proofreader, capable writer, creative writing skills a plus 

•             Excellent communicator 

•             Facility with standard department software: Word, PowerPoint, Excel

•             College degree required 

•             One-two years in assistant role (at a magazine a plus) with some marketing experience

•             Office experience through internships or previous work history (Publishing industry experience a plus)
