Job Description:


Senior Engineer for ITC Holdings Corp., in Topeka, Kansas.  Duties include: Provide planning-related guidance for large-scale energy transmission systems, and develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external entities interconnected to energy transmission systems; serve on committees, panels and working groups at Regional Reliability Organizations, Regional Transmission Organizations, NERC/ERO and other industry and stakeholder related groups; develop, test, and propose new system capital expansion projects to mitigate potential system performance concerns and/or planning criteria violations; lead the development of internal and external analysis and documentation of various facets of transmission systems; support RTO and RRO data submittals, regulatory filings, NERC compliance activities, and development of contracts; serve as primary subject matter expert for compliance with NERC planning standards; including supporting external audits of the company; monitor policy issues, select regulatory activities, and provide planning support for regulatory and legal filings; support ITC Grid Development activities by working with existing and potential partners in pursuit of transmission development opportunities and evaluating potential projects; develop RFP’s and scope documents for soliciting external contractors for special projects, including supervising their performance; provide technical instruction to lower-level planning engineers; and travel domestically 10% of time. Req’s: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Power Systems Engineering, or foreign equivalent; and 3 years of experience in an electric transmission planning engineering position. 2 years of experience with each of the following: developing energy transmission strategic expansion plans in compliance with Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) rules and policies; developing, testing, and proposing energy transmission capital expansion projects; identifying energy transmission system performance concerns and planning mitigating capital projects; utilizing power system analysis tools to study expected transmission system performance including voltage, thermal loading, transfer capability, short circuit, and dynamic stability; performing customer interconnection studies, including new load and generation interconnection requests. Experience can be acquired concurrently.
