Summary of Job Duties
(Note: This summary will be used for keyword search) Working equally for both the Feminist Studies and the Black Studies departments, the Financial Assistant provides financial management support to each department's Business Officer and Department Chair. Financial duties include the following: assists and monitors internal financial controls, reviews monthly financial statements, performs monthly audit and reconciliation of general and payroll ledgers. Under general supervision from the Business Officer, processes invoices, purchase orders, reimbursements, and all departmental travel and entertainment. Collaborates and coordinates with the Business Officer on year-end fiscal closing and carry-forward tasks.

Minimum Requirements

* Experience in college or university setting.

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Experience with applications such as GUS, Word, Excel, PPS, Complete, Gateway, Flexcard, General Ledger balances and reconciliation., TOEs, TOFs, Espresso, Data Warehouse, travel, entertainment, and memberships.

* Excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills required.

* Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions and successfully prioritize projects with competing deadlines.

* Must be detail oriented, accurate, thorough and be able to manage a high volume of complex transactions on multiple funding sources.
* Excellent writing and math skills.

Desirable Requirements
UCSB Financial Assistant experience.
