Position Summary:
As an LCM configuration engineer (Engineer 2) you will work with development, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, and Change Management to release Illumina products (instruments and consumables) from development to production seamlessly. You will own the transfer of materials, FRUs, drawings, specifications, and bills of materials to Illumina SAP/PLM system though out product development cycle including before and after commercial launch.

Responsibilities: 


  • Collaborate with Development, LCM, supply chain, quality, GFSL to support new product launch activities including but not limited to material master and BoM setup

  • Interface with internal and external stakeholder to facilitate design and process change throughout the lifecycle of the product

  • Originate and submit Engineering Records (ER), Change Requests (CR), and Deviations utilizing change control and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems

  • Monitor change activities through approval and implementation

  • Manage SAP material number, document info record (DIR) number, upload design and process document, setup proper document data and linkage for engineering

  • Ensure standard practices and procedures are followed when analyzing data and content

  • Create, edit and maintain departmental work instruction and guidance documentation; deliver training as needed.

  • Prioritize and coordinate tasks and projects within a fast-paced and technical business environment

  • Component engineering, working with internal and external stakeholders to create and release spares in Illumina SAP/PLM to support the field.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in science or engineering discipline, or related field required

  • 3-5 years’ experience in engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, configuration management, and/or operations

  • Experience in a mechanical assembly of complex precision opto/mechanical modules and ability to read mechanical assembly drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM) a plus.

  • Solid understanding of Bill of Material and basic engineering principles

  • Solid understanding on change management, ER process

  • Experience with PLM systems required, SAP experience a must

  • Must be team oriented and have effective communication skills to work as part of a team.

  • Experience in MS Office, MS Project, Visio and PowerPoint required

  • CMII certification desired

  • APICS certification is a plus

  • Experience applying quality system regulations and standards, including 21 CFR Part 820 (cGMP), ISO 13485, ISO 9001, a plus

  • Experience within a regulated environment, preferred

  • SolidWORKS/Solid modeling/drafting experience is a plus.

  • Travelling up to 10%

Education:
