* The inventory control specialist is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy in all warehouse locations and maintaining discrepant material & RMA processes. The position may also be required to provide support for order processing & general shipping functions. An Inventory Control Specialist may be trained on all or selected essential duties listed below.


* Follow all prescribed Safety Regulations:
* Adhere to Hill-Rom's Essential Safety Principles.

* Kevlar gloves must be worn when using the Operations approved safety knife.

* Any knife or box cutter that is not issued by Hill-Rom along with documented training is prohibited

* Tools and equipment are not to be altered or modified by the operator.

* Steel-toed shoes are required when pulling parts from the warehouse.

* Forklift certification is required to operate any fork trucks or power jacks.

* Operator must be trained to and follow the blood borne pathogen-training guidelines when servicing used equipment. (Gloves, Gowns and Safety glasses are required)

* A Kevlar glove on each hand is required when operating cutting dies.

* Safety glasses are required at all times when in the manufacturing distribution area.

* All safety guards are to remain in place and unaltered on all equipment. Intentional Removal Of A Safety Guard And Or Alteration Of Equipment Will Result In Immediate Termination. Notify your line leader or supervisor if any safety guards are inoperable or missing.

* All safety checklists are to be completed at the beginning of each workday.

* All 5s checklist are to be completed daily along with daily assigned work responsibilities.

* Any safety hazard or injury must be communicated to a line leader or supervisor. All posted Caution and Warning signs must be observed. All safety and training policies and procedures must be followed.

* Please make sure that all safety concerns are addressed at the 9:45 DCI meeting and that all concerns are addressed to your satisfaction

Other Essential Duties:
* Adhere to the Hillenbrand Industries Standards of Ethical Business Conduct.

* Performs job in accordance to applicable Quality System Standards.
Inventory accuracy
* Cycle Count product line inventory as requested.

* Audit receiving department transactions daily and correct if necessary- maintain Receiving error spreadsheet and charts.

* Maintain inventory levels at vendor locations.

* Review negative inventory report, inspect inventory and reconcile differences.
Non Conforming Material

* Ensure timely dispositioning of non conforming materials.

* Prepare and process Return to Vendor inventory.

* Authorize payment for repair of DMR inventory.

* Maintain Non Conforming Material Database

* Process & ship Service Center RGA orders.

* Process & ship RMA's for Capital Products.
International Shipping

* Package international shipments according to required international shipping procedures

* Prepare necessary international documentation and shipping arrangement via, air, ocean or express carrier
Order & Shipping Support

* Prepare and process shipments for both rental and capital products.

* Place Service Center orders for rental products and invoice them.

* Invoice capital orders.

* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

* Ability to complete routine forms, i.e. Non-Conforming Material Report.

* Ability to communicate effectively with work group

* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as algebra. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, metric conversions and proportions to practical situations.

* Ability to understanding and to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

* Forklift certification.

* Proficient in the use of Microsoft word processing, spreadsheet and database applications in a Windows environment. Familiarity with Global AS 400 application and/or Peoplesoft order management preferred.

* Employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
