Plant Manager
San Antonio, TX –Distribution Center
 
What you will do

Directs production and distribution for plant by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers and/or supervisors.


 
How you will do it


  • Coordinates all aspects of plant operations, including quality, production, distribution, and warehousing in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures established by the company.

  • Develops and implements plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.

  • Reviews production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of plant per approved financial forecast.

  • Recommends budgets to management.

  • Manages several subordinate supervisors and managers who supervise employees in production and administrative roles. 

  • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this plant.  May also supervise several non-supervisory employees. 

  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws.

  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

  • Bachelor's degree is required; Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business preferred

  • 8+ years’ experience in Plant/Manufacturing Operations or Supply Chain Management

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Required knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word using MS Windows platform.  MS PowerPoint and MS Access experience a plus.
