  • Perform all material handling within black oxide area and all material handling from black oxide to Assembly. Use fork lift, personal material handler, and hand truck to assist with heavier loads.
  • Must set the controls and temperatures for each tank to provide quality parts, by infusing them with Black Oxide per established standards. Will de-rust as required.
  • Maintain part quality by adjusting tank temperatures. Maintain all concentrations of soap levels derust, black oxide salts, and chromic acids. Use of each chemical must be logged.
  • Prepare parts entering into black oxide by using screens and adjusting levels of baskets. Transfer parts from tubs and pallets to half or full baskets as necessary.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of tanks and work area. Periodically clean salt and caustic tanks.
  • Perform all appropriate tempering operations after chromic acid is administered.
  • Complete all required paperwork, including lots run and chemicals used.
  • Locate and issue specific quantities of semi stock items to assembly and production departments. Check Production schedules with component parts available in staging areas. Pull necessary components, match, and deliver to assembly.

  • Maintain inventory accuracy to established levels. Complete all necessary paperwork for incoming or outgoing components.
  • Prepare semi-stock shipments to other plants.
  • Verify back to stock and defective item quantities. Post totals, maintain clerical records, locate in stockroom.

  • Calibrate scales to known standards.
