Job Description:

Serves as academic counselor for students in the Gallogly College of Engineering. Supports the planning and delivery of academic advising/counseling services offered through the Williams Student Services Office, as well as participates in programs and events which promote comprehensive educational opportunities for all students within the college. Cooperates with faculty members in providing for academic advising needs of individuals or groups of students.

Required Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND:

  • 12 - 24 months experience working in academic advising/student services.


Skills:



  • Ability to speak, read and write clear, concise English


  • Ability to accurately read and understand written materials and instructions


  • Proficient in Microsoft Office


  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information


  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives


  • Able to interpret, apply and uphold University of Oklahoma and Gallogly College of Engineering policies, regulations, and standards.

  • Able to effectively and appropriately guide students toward degree completion

  • Must be able to pull, push, reach, stand, engage in repetitive motions, grasp, move, feel, sit, communication, hear, and see,including color, depth perception and clarity.


Departmental Preferences:

  • Master's preferred
