Operations - USA Oldsmar, Florida 

The Senior Regional Quality Lead (SRQL) acts as a backup to the Quality Director as needed. The SRQL will act as a mentor for RQLs. The SRQL is responsible for identifying and reporting on areas of improvement in the measurements and metrics related to data in Nielsen’s US Watch markets. The SRQL provides a second level point of contact for the Quality & Risk team providing direction and guidance directly and indirectly to associates within Field and Operations areas, including direct interaction with various Nielsen US Watch Operations resources, and with E&Y, Internal and Independent market audits/auditors. The SRQL utilizes Quality & Risk processes and procedures to measure, assess and communicate on the data metrics, and works closely with other areas in Nielsen to positively influence others and drive change through technology and/or process improvements that will lead to improvement of sample operations and the MRC accreditation process. The SRQL will organize and manage meetings, and create and present materials in support of Quality & Risk initiatives and processes to a variety of audiences, including Operations Leaders and others as required.

The SRQL supports a healthy environment by coaching and mentoring RQLs and others, removing impediments and finding continuous improvement opportunities to improving quality.  This position requires strong planning, coaching, facilitation, problem solving, and presentation and communication skills. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment; facilitate team level planning, effectively manage messaging, act to manage cross-team dependencies, influence stakeholders and associates on other teams to ensure successful delivery of team objectives/deliverables.

This role will report to the Quality Director.

Job Responsibilities



  • Proactively manage communications, improve cross-team/function understanding and alignment to ensure assumptions and dependencies related to Quality & Risk improvements are clear and mitigated




  • Coordinate teams/resources to manage project/program-like efforts, including establishing and implementing processes and procedures associated with identifying and improving quality driven metrics and measurements of data, support stakeholders and users




  • Manage dashboards and metrics that can help identify health and opportunities for continuous improvement




  • Build/establish robust plans, evaluate risks, track progress and communicate to stakeholders




  • Organize and lead team meetings, and Market review meetings with Market Managers and ROLs, and provide input to and/or organize and lead internal cross-department meetings




  • Coordinate and lead quality driven improvements with Market Managers, ROLs, FMs, FRs, and others on quality improvement measurements and metrics and compliancy of results




  • Indirectly manage Action Plans built by Market Managers and/or ROLs from findings provided by the SRQL related to Independent, Internal, and/or E&Y audit findings




  • Coordinate with operation and technical teams to ensure planned tasks are on-track and remediate any issues, risks, concerns in order to achieve target delivery goals




  • Manage and review requirements and specifications for deliverables needed to properly manage deliverables/outcomes required from other areas such as technology and data science




  • Facilitates/participates in audits (E&Y, Internal and Independent) of sample homes within market(s) to ensure that field policies are followed. These audits are critical to the improvement of sample operations and the MRC accreditation process




  • Builds relationships across US Watch Operations and Audit teams




  • Provide clear and concise feedback and recommend quality improvements that may include technology and/or process change to internal departments




  • Provides indirect management of resources in technology, QA, and other areas to drive creation and implementation of Requirements in support of quality improvements for Operations




  • Work closely with internal quality team, FCOQ, Tech Support and Field Management Team to ensure that all policies and procedures are being followed




  • Work directly with RQLs, Operations Leaders and Quality Director to address potential concerns




  • Act indirectly to manage FMs and/or FRs involved with E&Y and Internal audits and be on-site with the assigned Auditor in market(s), as assigned




  • Conduct independent reviews of FM and/or FR data and provide analysis in markets to identify quality gaps, as assigned




  • Coach RQLs, FRs and/or FMs on market analysis findings and methods for improving quality




  • Complete market-level quality evaluation based on performed in-field audits, in combination with other internal quality measures




  • Focus and drive quality improvements within the field procedures




  • Provide analysis and recommendations related to audit processes




  • Ensure quality and timely delivery on all reporting




  • Organize and facilitate meetings as needed




  • Develop and present materials, in meetings and through other communications, to various audiences, including Operations Leaders and others as requested




  • Provide Summary and Report Analysis to Operations Leaders and Quality Director, as directed




  • Escalate any known issues that would adversely impact a successful audit outcome




  • Commitment to continued development and training in operational audits, standards and compliance




  • Travel 50%+

  • Proficient with use of Microsoft Office desktop tools or equivalent




  • Ability to identify and leverage best practices, and coach/mentor others to do the same




  • Valid driver’s license required




  • Significant experience working with minimal supervision




  • Significant experience working with and reporting results to senior leadership and peers




  • Strong understanding of management fundamentals




  • Minimum 10+ years of successful membership recruiting and/or field experience at Nielsen or external field related experience, including significant experience in Project/Program management and/or comparable experience in managing others directly or indirectly



Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience




  • Knowledge of metering technologies & practices as well as industry knowledge




  • Ability to lead others through processes and shared responsibilities in a rapidly changing environment
