The Department of Clinical Genomics at Mayo Clinic is seeking a full time board-certified/board-eligible Clinical Geneticist in Jacksonville, FL. The Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL (a charitable, not for profit organization) is a 304-bed, eight-story teaching and research hospital. The site currently has 300+ therapeutic clinical trials, and 400+ research studies supported by extramural funding. This integrated medical practice provides diagnosis, medical treatment, surgery and care in more than 40 specialty areas with distinguished programs in cancer, transplantation, neurosciences, heart disease and digestive diseases.
The successful candidate will be a clinician committed to an academic career who can will further develop an emerging genomics program in Florida., The department is currently staffed by 2 clinical geneticists, 2 genetics counselors, and allied health support staff. The Department of Clinical Genomics at Mayo Clinic has three sites; staff in the Florida works closely with other 11 geneticists and 13 genetic counselors in Arizona and Rochester, MN. A successful candidate will participate in a variety of clinical activities emphasizing adult patient care. You will enjoy close clinical collaboration with gastroenterologists, neurologists, endocrinologists, surgeons and multiple other disciplines present within all sites of Mayo Clinic. Opportunities to pursue academic interests and conduct research are components of the position.
Mayo Clinic's values of teamwork and collaboration are essential to providing integrated medical and surgical care to patients with complex conditions. The faculty member will have an academic appointment in The Mayo Clinic College of Medicine commensurate with prior background.
License or certification
Candidates must be board-certified (eligible) by The American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG) and be eligible for Florida licensure. Board certification in Internal Medicine or other discipline focusing on adult medical care is preferred.
